Brelinda Gail Copeland Sullen came to Tuskegee from Doerun, Georgia to attend Tuskegee Institute, presently Tuskegee University. She received her Bachelor Science in Elementary Education in 1985, her Master of Science degree in Counseling and Student Development in the Spring of1987, and continued through the Summer of 1987 to complete her second Master of Education degree in School Counseling in the Summer 1987. She received her Ed.S in Counseling Education from Auburn University and obtained Educational Leadership Certification from Albany State University.

While at Tuskegee Institute, Brelinda earned All-American honors as a basketball player for four years. She was Freshman All-American, 1981-82, and Kodak All-American 1982-1985. She was also selected All-SIAC regular season and tournament teams. Many times she was named MVP in tournament play several times. If her records have not been broken, she holds both scoring and rebounding records for Tuskegee Institute (University) Lady Tigers.

She began coaching basketball as a graduate assistant with the late Tiny Laster at Tuskegee University in 1986. In 1988 she became the girls' basketball high school coach for Booker T. Washington High School and remained until 1998. During her 10 years tenure as the head coach of Booker T. Washington, she led her team to eight Area and seven Sub-Regional Championships.

In 1999, Brelinda returned to her home, Colquitt County High School, Moultrie, Georgia and Worth County High Sylvester, Georgia she worked in that area for six years as a school counselor and a head girls' basketball coach. She took a team that was only winning 2-3 games a year, to the SWEET 16 in two years .

In 2004, Brelinda returned to Alabama and began teaching at Notasulga High School. She has worked in many capacities at Notasulga High School and Tuskegee Institute Middle School, including teacher, counselor and assistant principal. In 2008, Brelinda was appointed to her current position, principal of Notasulga High School. Brelinda is constantly seeking creative ways to foster a dynamic learning environment and to promote high quality education for the students at Notasulga High School.

With 25+ years of professional experience in education, Brelinda also mentors and tutors students in the community. She worked as a community coach for more than five years. She is actively involved in community health initiatives "and a member of the Tuskegee Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta.

She is married to John Frank Sullen, they have three children; Nekesha, Myra and John, II.

About Hall of Fame

The Tuskegee University Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 1974 under the leadership of Dr. Howard W. Davis, Director of Athletics and Chairman of Physical Education and Athletics at Tuskegee University.

Purpose of HOF

The Hall of Fame was organized to recognize and to pay tribute to former athletes and supporters of athletics for their exceptional athletic performance while at Tuskegee and/or their loyal dedicated support of athletics as well as their contributions and community service through their professional careers.

Nominations For Induction

Nominations for induction are accepted through out the year but must be submitted prior to January 1 of the induction year. Inductions are held during the fall of odd years.
