"Kelly Stanley Jr. a native of Enterprise, Alabama enrolled at Tuskegee Institute on a four year athletic scholarship in football in 1970. A placekicker and running back, he lettered all four years, was selected to the SIAC All Conference first team in 1973. He led Tuskegee in scoring three consecutive years (1971-73); he led the SIAC conference in scoring two consecutive years (1972-73). Kelly also set two university records as placekicker: fieldgoal of 46 yards and most fieldgoals in season (11) 1973.

As an electronics technology and industrial management major, Kelly performed as well in his class work as on the athletic field. Kelly was active in campus life. He was a winning contestant in the President's Essay Speech Contest in 1975. Kelly became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity in 1972. Graduating in May of 1975, Kelly also received additional studies in logistic management at the University of Tennessee and Army Acquisition Management College.

Kelly's career began as an avionics maintenance officer in the US Air Force at Merced AFB, California, serving four years. Additional employment was with Xerox Medical System in Tampa, Florida. Kelly retired after 32 years with the US Federal Service. The majority of those years were at Fort Rucker, Alabama with the Directorate of Combat Developments, developing helicopter combat aviation system, also the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security, and the Aviation Center Logistic Command.

Kelly's involvement in community activities has consisted of tutorial programs at his church, Johns Chapel AME, Vacation Bible School participant, assisting the elderly with home repairs and the adult literacy program through Enterprise State Junior College. Kelly also participates in the Tuskegee National Alumni Association's Adopt-A-Dorm program.

Currently Kelly resides in Daleville, Alabama.

About Hall of Fame

The Tuskegee University Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 1974 under the leadership of Dr. Howard W. Davis, Director of Athletics and Chairman of Physical Education and Athletics at Tuskegee University.

Purpose of HOF

The Hall of Fame was organized to recognize and to pay tribute to former athletes and supporters of athletics for their exceptional athletic performance while at Tuskegee and/or their loyal dedicated support of athletics as well as their contributions and community service through their professional careers.

Nominations For Induction

Nominations for induction are accepted through out the year but must be submitted prior to January 1 of the induction year. Inductions are held during the fall of odd years.
